Steel Challenge — Super Steel Outlaw Match

The Alexandria Chapter hosts Super Steel Outlaw Matches — a fast-paced steel target competition open to pistol, pistol-caliber carbine (PCC), and rimfire shooters. These matches emphasize speed and accuracy on steel targets across multiple stages.

Format

  • Six stages — three at the pistol range, three at the rifle range
  • First four stages: 1 paper target + 4 steel targets, four strings each
  • Final two stages: Longer courses with approximately a dozen steel targets
  • Scoring: Hit factor (points divided by time)

Permitted Firearms

  • Pistols — all centerfire and rimfire
  • Pistol-caliber carbines (PCC) — carbines chambered in pistol calibers
  • .22 rimfire rifles
  • No centerfire rifle cartridges — this is strictly enforced for safety on steel targets

Scoring Divisions

  • Centerfire Pistol: Holster draw start
  • PCC: Combined centerfire and rimfire carbine division
  • Rimfire Pistol: Low ready start

Optics are permitted in all divisions. No magazine capacity restrictions.
